TWELEBS VS CELEBS. . .SPOT THE DIFFERENCE!!!

Google Pic
Sipho Ramaru
A partially anonymous, popular Twitter user who has nothing else going for them. This is a definition of a tweleb according to Urban Dictionary.

Twelebs live for RTs and ":''''D"s from their followers as they tweet ignorant, sometimes funny and mostly offensive content all in the name of retaining their Tweleb status. Every Tweleb's avatar change is welcomed with dozens of "Avi appreciations" from their followers, to which they're usual reply is something like: "Wow. Humbled."

They are easily recognisable by their amount of followers on Twitter (usually 5000 or more). Their Twitter names are usually their Instagram name or a name promoting the latest cool kid gathering e.g: #coolkidgathering15Oct!!

Basically a tweleb is an individual who is a twitter celebrity and in most cases. . .their vocations are just perfecting being a twitter pest to people who are doing something productive with their lives. Another “fun” thing they do is gun down for real life celebrities in the name of attention, trending and being cool. . .stupidly cool.

Celebrity is a public figure getting attention from the media. In most cases, celebrity status is habitually associated with wealth and fame, and celebrities can easily provide opportunities to make money. Successful careers in sports and entertainment are commonly associated with celebrity status.

Should celebrities pay attention to twelebs? NO! Well in most cases they know which buttons to push when it comes to provoking celebrities and they always succeed in their imprudent acts.

Phumakim hit maker Cassper Nyovest is the latest celebrity victim of twelebs. On Monday evening, twitter was flooding with insults gunned at Nyovest that even other celebrities were feeling sorry for the homey! There are other celebrities who find themselves in the same situation in most cases. . .One that is a regular of these acts has to be Sizwe Dlhomo. I think it has reached a point where he doesn’t even care anymore and instead of getting anything personal, he just shot back!

Urban Dictionary continues to say:
Though many of them aren't bad people, they live pretty mediocre lives and for most being a Tweleb is probably as good as it'll ever get for them.

A grown-ass man who still lives with his Mom but still hasn't gotten that Diploma that's taking him at least 5 years (and counting) to complete because he is too busy chasing "ez'weyi".

Cassper Nyovest is arguably the biggest hip hop artist in the game right now, locally. . .He is out there almost every day making the kinda money that most of us haven’t even seen yet! Sizwe Dhlomo on the other hand, is a decent business-man making moves of his own.
Spot the difference between the two. . .choose wisely when choosing a career or what to do with your life!

AKA VS BLAKLEZ RECORD BATTLE…

Sipho Ramaru

Hip hop is a very competitive genre, and battles (a face to face battle AND record battles) are still relevant to those who appreciate the game and everything it comes with…

Street Cred and lyrical skills meant everything in hip hop to the real OG’s.

I’m not 100% sure how this whole “beef” started. . .But apparently the AKA and BlakLez battle started on YFM when a question was posed of “Who’s a better emcee between the two”. . .

Understand that this wasn’t even beef, it was just a battle between two dope rappers. By then, Lez was still running with the roaches, ‘Roach Inc Entertainment’ and AKA was running with IV League.

Let’s try and get into it by analyzing both the rappers’ skills and the content in their records…

Flow….

In this one, Lez won hands down when we talking flow and word play; “AKA, spittin that K-A-K/ Your light skin get bruised when the AK spray/ I pay my dues in your case pay day is late/ BlakLez got the broads screaming hey bay-bay/ haa…I’m real dope so they scramble for the crack pipe”. . .Niceee. He killed this one no doubt!

AKA. . .He won this one when we talking creativity, content AND facts! “I ain’t gotta say sh*t, got the streets on smash and your hood on my back/ yeah I’m that nigga you can see me coming/ when the smoke clear throw it in the air you can see me running, they can see me coming/ Front to the back don’t front halla back when your beats be suffering”. . .He killed the hook compared to Lez. There’s a lotta creativity and AKA really applied himself in this joint!

FACTS….

Lez is singing “And we saying good night to your rap career”, few years later, AKA is the hottest emcee in the game! He’s touring the world and making a killing. . .So Lez loses points on this one! Then he says “And you can make a dope beat mr. Ivy League and get Pro to ghost write you will never style for me”…”I rather hear Da Les on auto-tune, at least he can dance tell me what the hell can you do!” killer! Though we not sure if Pro is his ghost-writer.

And AKA said “I was shining when I was 16, you still struggling to get shine for your 16s”…and yes! AKA was quite a young star when he was still with Entity and even after that when he joined IV League then went solo. Lez wasn’t much of a star then, he is starting to be a well-known artist now. So AKA get points for this one.

”Don’t quit your day job, send you back packing to the graveyard/ All I got is money on my radar…Fly is where my name on/ so get your 50 minutes of fame on”. AKA is touring the world and getting money!!

Battles are what shows what a rapper is really made of and if they can hold their own. There aren't restrictions when it comes to battling. And even big names do it! Tumi "from the V papa" is still battling and for him, it's not really putting himself on the spot but participating in what happens to be part of the culture!

But please understand that there's a difference between battling and beefing! Battling is all about showcasing your skills and proving that you the nicest and there's no bad blood in the process. . .While beefing is a different ball-game! There's bad blood between the two parties, there's violence and all the other negative elements and sometimes it can even lead to physical confrontations!
